Alabama’s ReTreet Resort Combines Nature with Glamor

Glamping—luxury camping, usually featuring upscale safari tents—gets a makeover at Scottsboro, Alabama’s ReTreet Resort. Less than fifteen minutes from downtown Guntersville and close to Lake Guntersville, the forty-acre resort offers tiny cottages and treehouses in addition to its deluxe tents.

Complimentary golf carts are available for all guests. In the glamping tents, amenities include private hot tubs. The tiny cottages come equipped with firepits. The luxury treehouses, designed in loft style, come with private decks and are located near the dog park. All accommodations include kitchenettes.

The Star Dome, Alabama’s only glass Ekodome, hosts regular dining events, including a Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea this May 11. Evening events at the Star Dome are magical, as guests dine under the stars, and the Star Dome provides a unique and romantic venue for weddings.

Nearby Lake Guntersville offers plenty of opportunities for connecting with nature and enjoying the scenery. On June 29 and 30, the scenery will be noisy as some of the world’s fastest boats compete in Hydrofest, a  boat racing tradition dating back to the 1940s. ReTreet offers Hydrofest packages including discount rates and an opportunity to upgrade Hydrofest tickets to Club level.

Even if it’s not Hydrofest, the lake offers plenty of chances to explore its natural surroundings through hiking, boating, fishing or birdwatching. When the excitement’s over, ReTreet provides a place to relax and enjoy the great outdoors.

ReTreet Resort is located at 5843 Scottsboro Highway in northeast Alabama,  near Scottsboro and Guntersville. For more information, check the website at
