Asheville’s Spectacular Spa

The most exciting spa in Asheville, North Carolina is not in town. It’s under it.  The 43,000-square-foot luxury spa located beneath The Omni Grove Park Inn features twenty water features, hot tubs, plunge pools, saunas, waterfalls, and a lap pool with underwater music. An outside ethanol burning fireplace will come in handy if cool Fall weather ever arrives, and the Spa Cafe offers smoothies and light healthy fare.

It’s an integral part of the total wellness package to find this offer that is something for everyone. They provide the patients and clients the opportunity to meet all of their health and wellness needs.

gg_omni_gpi_spa_275Entrance to the $50 million facility from the wonderful old hotel is through a series of tunnels giving the impression that the visitor is going to wind up in the Bat Cave. However, the reception area is light and airy and the spa opens onto tiered outdoor terraces which provide sweeping views of the Blue Ridge mountains. The spa’s interior offers plenty of dim cozy nooks, complete with fireplaces, in which to contemplate one’s next move, which ideally includes one of the facility’s indulgent massages.

Naturally, the ultimate spa experience involves staying at The Omni Grove Park Inn, which has been hosting celebrities and presidents since its 1913 opening. The spectacular lobby boasts 36-foot-high rock fireplaces; the entire property was intentionally designed to remind guests of the great National Park lodges out West. Just off the lobby, the Sunset Terrace is the ideal spot for a meal or drinks overlooking the Asheville skyline and the distant mountains.

Even if you’re not staying at the Inn, you can still check out the Spa via the purchase of a day pass, available Monday through Thursday excluding holidays. The day pass offers access to the Spa’s amenities including steam rooms, saunas, pools, terraces, fireplaces and of course those waterfalls.
The Omni Grove Park Inn is located at 290 Macon Avenue in Asheville, North Carolina. For more information on the resort and the Spa, check www.omnihotels.com/hotels/asheville-grove-park/spa or phone 800-438-5800.
