Georgia’s Callaway Resort & Gardens Celebrates Spring

Callaway Resort & Gardens’  two-month-long festival “Celebrate SPRING!” is currently in full bloom. The 2,500-acre woodland garden features one of the world’s largest displays of colorful azaleas which reach their peak at this time of year. Presented by Humana,  “Celebrate SPRING!” is designed as an immersive experience which, in addition to hundreds of thousands of blooms, includes food, live music, and activities for all ages. This year marks the debut of Colors of Callaway, a limited-time art installation of nearly 150 floating umbrellas.

During Acoustic Sunset Hours every Friday, visitors to the Gardens can enjoy live music, wine and a picnic while watching the sunset. On Saturdays and Sundays, Cason’s Garden is the setting for live music performances. Visitors can also enjoy wine, beer and bites including barbecue brisket sandwiches, pork belly skewers and corn on the cob.

In addition to viewing world-famous blooms, visitors can connect with nature in a variety of ways.

The Cecil B. Day Butterfly Center features more than 1,000 butterflies fluttering around in one of North America’s largest tropical butterfly conservatories.

The Gardens presents Birdfest on April 7, with bird walks, nature-based workshops, a live bird show and guest speakers. On April 19,  guests celebrate Earth Day under the stars with the Coca-Cola Space & Science Center. Attendees can look through telescopes and identify stars, planets and constellations. There’s more Earth Day fun on April 20 when guests can enjoy a five-course Farm-to-Table dinner in Cason’s Garden, featuring farms located near Callaway Gardens.

“Celebrate SPRING!” wraps up April 28, and the grand finale happens April 27 with Symphony on the Sand, a performance by Columbus State University’s orchestra on the beach at Robin Lake.
